Some researches believe that the growth and yield of crops in greenhouses are strongly dependent on light, and LED red light source supplement light can promote the growth of tomato plants. The study found that the LED red and blue combined inter-plant supplement light significantly increased the quality of the upper, middle, and lower leaves per unit leaf area, and also significantly improved the photosynthesis of the leaves, making the photosynthetic capacity of the leaves stronger, especially for In the middle and lower leaves with more shading, the effect is more obvious. Compared with white light, the proper ratio of blue LED and red LED is an important guarantee for wheat to obtain good photosynthesis, dry weight and yield of the above ground. This is also the reason why the LED inter light keeps the leaves strong in photosynthesis when measuring the carbon dioxide response curve and the light response curve of the leaves.
By supplementing the red light and the mixed light of red and blue to the tomatoes in the solar greenhouse, the tomato yield has been significantly increased. Studies have found that red light can significantly accelerate the ripening of tomatoes. In this experiment, the photosynthesis of the middle and lower leaves of the tomato was significantly strengthened after the LED interplant light was added to the tomato, and the photosynthesis products produced by the leaves also increased. More assimilation products are used for the construction of fruits, and the lower fruits get more light and are easy to color and mature as soon as possible. This may be due to the LED red and blue light that induces the regulation of sucrose metabolism enzymes by phytochromes and promotes the activities of enzymes related to sucrose metabolism. The increase of the photosynthetic products makes the tomato fruits more distributed.
Red light and blue light are the main light quality that affects the quality of tomato fruits during the color conversion period. Many studies have found that the combination of red light and red-blue light treatment can significantly increase the sugar content and sugar-acid ratio of tomato fruits. Both red light and blue light can promote the accumulation of vitamin C and sugar in tomato fruits. In this experiment, some indicators related to tomato quality were measured, and it was found that the combination of red and blue LED light between plants can significantly increase the soluble solid content, soluble sugar content, sugar-to-acid ratio, VC content, and VE content of tomatoes. Both VC and VE are important antioxidants. In this experiment, it was found that the VE content in the fruit increased significantly after the LED light was added between the tomatoes. It fully shows that LED supplementary light does play an important role in improving tomato fruit quality.
In short, LED Inter light supplementation can significantly increase the photosynthesis of the upper, middle, and lower leaves, so that the leaves can produce more assimilation products, which are used for the construction of tomato leaves and fruits, so that the tomato ripening period is advanced, and the fruit quality is improved.
