According to TrendForce's latest survey, the global LED smart street lighting market (consisting only of illuminators and individual lighting control systems) will see rapid growth, with a compound annual growth rate of 8.2% until 2024.

Analyst Christine Liu points out, “Governments are trying to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on industry through fiscal policy, smart city building and new infrastructure investment. Of these government efforts, China and North America have the largest roadside infrastructure investments in terms of scale. The U.S. government has invested $42.9 billion in roadside infrastructure as of June 2020, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Efforts to stimulate the economy through government spending are expected to lead to increased demand for outdoor LED streetlights.”
